Shotkit 3.1: Plan a Video in Claude Code, From Brief to Checked Frames

Shotkit 3.1 is out. It is a free, open-source kit for Claude Code that plans a video before anything gets made. You give it a brief. It gives you an on-brand storyboard, prompts written for ten image and video generators, and a verdict on every frame you bring back.

Install it

That puts all five skills in Claude Code. Restart the session and they are live. The full steps are on the install page, and the quickstart walks one run end to end.

What one run gives you

• A brand lock. Your colors, type, voice rules and the things you never do, written down once. Every step after this reads from it.
• A shot plan. Every shot decided before anything is made: framing, timing, motion and the line on screen, in shots.json.
• A storyboard you can open. One HTML page with every shot, in your brand's own fonts.
• Prompts for ten generators. The same shot, written the way each model reads best.
• A verdict on every frame. You make the frames in your generator. Shotkit checks each one against the brief and the brand, and says accept or revise.
• A record of the run. Every input is hashed, so you can show where each frame came from.

What is new in 3.1

• It installs clean. The skills and the tools line up after install, and the checks run from any folder.
• The storyboard renders in your brand's fonts. The preview reads the type straight from the brand lock.
• Every shot has to pass. The final check counts every shot in the plan, so a run is only finished when each frame has a verdict.
• It works with the other WhyStrohm skills. Shared file formats in a brand/ folder, so a voice profile or an audit can feed the storyboard.
• A new demo, made from one real run.

Where it fits

Shotkit plans. It does not render video, and it does not make the images. It decides what gets made and checks what comes back, so the frames you generate stay on brand from the first shot to the last.
